Lunch and Learns are back and they are revamped ready to enlightened, inform and entertain during your lunch break. This semester we are discussing the various ways food can contribute to your health and mental state and how to incorporate them into your daily lives.
Our first Lunch and Learn session, Nasty Nutrition Habits Revealed, will kick off Tuesday, February 2nd in the Wellness Classroom. As the days seem to rush past us in one hectic blur, we oftentimes have to succumb to less than ideal food choices. This session will bring awareness to the effects of consuming grab-it and go options and what this does to energy levels, physiology and metabolism. As we recognize the traps we have the tendency of falling in to, we hope this will provide you with the knowledge that will guide you through the confusing processed food labels and help you make better and informed decisions in a snap.
Food For Thought…
The following session, on February 16th, focuses on the impact nutrition has on your brain. Nutrition: Upgrade Your Brain, will reveal which foods can brighten your mood, encourage clearer thinking and create an overall happier and balanced you! We will also be discussing small positive lifestyle which correlate with intentional nutrition and how this creates even greater control over your life! With this session, discover the ability to live your life calmly, yet to the fullest.
Becoming the best version of yourself, requires consistency and sometimes strategic planning that takes time. To make things easier we have taken even a deeper look inside nutrition and have studied which foods pack the biggest punch per bite. Bringing us to the final session of the semester, Nutrition: Eating Fresh, March 1st. Take a look at superfoods in a different light and see how you can incorporate them into your own daily lives, making Hippocrates, the father of medicine, proud!
In addition to learning the positive impacts various foods can have, you can now discover how to implement them first hand during our cooking demonstration, Monday, February 15th, at 2:00pm. Presented by Priority Health, this demonstration will guide you through creative ways to utilize foods super-packed with nutrients to create delicious meals for the whole family.
