Employee Spotlight: Kayla Andreski

Meet Kayla! Kayla is a Nursing Student in her Junior year here at OU. You can catch Kayla at the Rec Center working with Member Services at the Welcome Center and Service desk.

Why/how did you choose your major?

I had always been interested in the healthcare profession and Nursing seemed like a good fit. I have always loved taking care of people so Nursing came pretty naturally to me.

When did you start working at the Rec?

September 2014

Why did you want to work at the Rec?

I always liked the idea of working on campus and the Rec seemed like a really fun place to work.

What is your favorite part about working here?

Everyone is super nice and friendly. Whenever I come into work, it seems like everyone everyone is genuinely happy to be there.

What transferable skills have you acquired that will help you in the future?

I have enhanced many skills such as communication, problem solving, and teamwork by working at the Rec.

What are your favorite Rec activities? (IM sports, GroupX, Street Teams, RLC, etc.)

I like to go to the GroupX classes. I really enjoyed Body Barre and Yoga this semester. I always like to work out at the Rec.

When you’re not at the Rec, what are some things you like to do?

I like to spend time with family and friends. My friends and I love to have movie nights.

What are you looking forward to?

I am looking forward to Christmas! It is my favorite holiday.

What are your plans for the future?

In the future I would love to become a Nurse Practitioner.

Fun Fact: When I graduate I want to work with Doctors Without Borders for a year.
