Football Club Takes Conference Championship in Club’s Second Year

The Football Club of Oakland University #3 took the Great Lakes Conference Championship trophy home last weekend, beating out #1 Robert Morris 27-26.

“We clinched the Great Lakes East Conference Championship, and Robert Morris University clinched the West, so we play for the upright Great Lakes Conference Champs” explains Football Club President, David Brosky.

According to the news post from the club’s governing body, National Club Football Association (NCFA), Oakland’s win has pushed them up in the rankings and pitted them against Robert Morris once more, but this time it is for the National Championship set to be played at the Salem Stadium in Virginia.

As for getting so far this year, Brosky says “The coaching staff has definitely been a huge factor to our success this year.  [The Coaches] along with the dedication and passion of the players has gotten us here.”
The future is bright for this young club winning conference championships in its second year of existence.
Good luck in the National Championship on December 6th, Oakland!
Those looking to get involved with the Football Club should check out their Facebook Page and keep an eye out for their ‘Spring Combine’ as they look to bring in new members and test the current ones.
